Lead development of overall CMC strategy in conjunction with CMC sub team, CMC teams head, CMC centers of excellence, and other function. Serve as the most senior medically qualified Alcon representative in the region Responsible for developing and executing U.S. and Canada Medical Affairs strategic plans in partnership with the U.S. & Canada commercial leadership teams including marketing & market Access Oversee development and implementation of all local Medical Affairs activities, e.g., Medical Communication, Medical Customer Support to support the product commercialization in the U.S. and Canada Provides strategic and medical leadership for the field based Medical Affairs Customer Support team in the U.S. and Canada including MSL, CAS and Call Centres in support of pre and post-product launch to meet the Area business priorities Develop and maintain relationships with external customers (KOLs, key decision makers in payer organizations) across Franchises, and collaborate with GMA and U.S. & Canada commercial teams to meet customer needs in a collaborative and compliant manner. Provide strategic and tactical guidance for Medical Affairs functions in the U.S. and Canada by ensuring alignment in relation with the global medical affairs strategy, process and standards Responsible for providing and ensuring that US and Canada requirements for clinical/medical development are clearly communicated and incorporated appropriately into the R&D project development plans and Global Medical Affairs brand strategic plans Serve as a member on both GMA Council chaired by Head, Global Medical Affairs and US & Canada Leadership team chaired by the Area President

Minimum requirements
MD required, with minimum 10 years experience in pharma or medical device industry. Preference for expertise in Ophthalmology Fluency in English essential 10 plus years of experience of developing and managing global/regional medical affairs activities in product lifecycle management including pre- and post-launch 5 plus years of experience managing a customer facing scientific, medical, clinical or technical support team in Pharma or medical device industry
