Job Description

The Compliance function ensures the development and maintenance of a strong compliance culture by developing and maintaining program infrastructure that identifies measures and monitors compliance with applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally. Compliance teams work closely with business, legal, risk, and audit functions to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters, assess and measure compliance and related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's compliance control environment.

Consumer Compliance is responsible for leading and implementing the compliance program across the consumer businesses, including Mortgage Banking, Consumer and Business Banking, and Card, Merchant Services and Auto Finance. The department works with the consumer businesses to ensure practices and policies are appropriately designed and to achieve compliance with both the spirit and intent of applicable laws and regulations, as well as ensuring execution of an effective compliance program.

The Head

Mortgage Banking Policies and Procedures Governance

will work on Consumer Compliance cross-CHASE initiatives and participate in numerous Consumer Compliance projects, as well as Global Compliance initiatives.

The Head

Mortgage Banking Policies and Procedures Governance

will:

Report to the Chief Compliance Officer of Mortgage Banking and manage a team of approximately 6 compliance officers dedicated to JPMorgan Chase's Mortgage Policies and Procedures Governance.

Oversee the operational end-to-end process monitoring new legal requirements, writing applicable policies, writing procedures and ultimately ensuring policies and procedures get implemented in the business.

Be the executive sponsor for the IT system that maintains the inventory of mortgage banking’s laws and policies—“Control Link” --and direct enhancements to Control Link as needed.

Work closely with the primary functional groups involved in each aspect of the end-to-end policies and procedures process-Legal, Risk, Change Management, Line of Business Compliance Officers and multiple business partners.

Oversee and manage all aspects of reporting related to the end- to- end process such as legal requirement aging reports and SLAs of the functional groups involved in the process.

Be responsible to escalate to sr. management any issues in the implementation on new laws and regulations and/or policies and procedures.

·

Chair the Policy and Governance bi-weekly Compliance Committee which is a forum to approve policies and report to sr. management key metrics.

Qualifications

Required experience

Experience in compliance roles in a regulated financial Institution, preferably involving the implementation of new laws and regulations and policies and procedures.

Robust project management skills with the ability to oversee a complex operational process that involves numerous moving parts and stakeholders

Strong leadership skills with experience in driving results and leading various teams

Comfortable escalating significant issues to senior management

College Degree and Advanced degree in law, accounting, or business

Excellent writing and oral communication skills

Proficient in excel and other reporting tools

Role will require minimal travel
