Job Description:
1. Adhere to the company’s values and behaviors
2. Design solar PV plants in the context of EPC and
multi-lot contracts
a. Carry-out preliminary and detailed designs of PV
plant, including the electrical, orientation/site
layout, and mechanical aspects of the projects
b. Elaborate functional and technical specifications for
all ECR NA solar PV plants (EPC)
c. Define and update continuously optimized designs of
ECR NA specific solar PV systems (multi-lot)
d. Elaborate, update and verify application within the
PV BU of national and local codes, regulations and
legislations that have an impact on the design,
construction and operation of ECR PV plants
3. Provide engineering support to Development team in
developing solar PV projects
4. Establish/maintain relationships with engineering
services providers and solar equipment vendors
5. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering designs
which produce the associated details and construction
documents (plans, specifications and estimates)
necessary to direct the construction contractors
6. Evaluate PV products and emerging technologies,
researching and developing industry best practices and
PV design standards, maintain design standards for
facilities and equipment.
7. Be able to make technology recommendations based on
project site location and geographic conditions
8. Assure the implementation, during all the engineering
phases, of the applicable laws and standards
requirements regarding Health, Safety and Environment
9. Build close relationship with the Procurement Team
for solar PV to ensure that key technical points are
factored into asset procurement decisions
10. Provide technical support to Construction team with
all necessary technical resources, during construction,
startup, testing, system commissioning and performance
monitoring.
11. Provide technical support to O&M team during
Operations and Maintenance
12. Establish a network of stakeholders associated to
ECR PV expertise (universities, industrials, independent
experts…)
13. Manage an engineering team of (5+) staff in charge
of tasks above
14. Perform administrative functions such as reviewing
and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing
rules, etc.

Qualifications:
Work Experience
1. At least 5 years of managerial experience in an
either engineering companies or EPC Contractor
companies, some of which should have been in renewable
energy environment, as a Project Lead or Project Manager
2. At least 10 years experience in performing design and
engineering of power plant projects (Specific experience
with utility HV substation projects would be a plus),
including at least 2 yeast for solar PV plant projects,
with particular reference to EPC project
Competences
1. Knowledge of solar design fundamentals and experience
in designing and developing of solar PV plant projects.
2. Ability to develop and review technical
specifications
3. Ability to manage and coordinate, from technical
stand point, equipment/systems/services tenders and
subsequent tabulation, ability to follow up Vendor’s
deliveries, ability to apply concepts such as cost and
schedule risk analysis
4. Solid knowledge of all relevant USA codes, standards,
regulations and safety requirements for engineering,
construction and operation of utility scale solar PV
systems
a. Solid working knowledge of Design Codes & Standards,
and other governing standards for design of solar PV
systems and familiarity with DC circuitry
b. Well versed in all applicable codes (NEC, UL, NESC,
CAS, IEEE, etc.), construction practices and other
governing standards for the design of the PV plants.
c. A robust understanding of health and safety
requirements including knowledge about legal standards
and regulations
5. Ability to understand and model performance of solar
PV systems (fixed and tracking)
a. Knowledge of output, performance and reliability
factors of various commercially available PV modules and
inverters
b. Experienced with PV System Energy Modeling tools,
specifically PVSyst and PV USA
6. Very good knowledge of operations-related engineering
issues for PV systems
a. Experience with advanced high voltage substation
carrier schemes, telecommunication and SCADA would be a
plus.
b. Experience with automation control and integration
7. Ability to communicate effectively with both
technical and non-technical individuals
8. Ability to build and develop high performance teams
and to motivate individuals and a team
9. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills to
develop effective working relationships across regions
and with contracted partners
10. Strong communication skills with the ability to
communicate with a variety of key stakeholder on a
variety of asset management, operational and technical
issues
11. Intercultural sensitivity
12. Excellent PC computer skills and familiarity with MS
Office and Windows
13. Willingness and availability to travel extensively
(1-3 nights per week)
