Reporting to the VP, Controller, you will manage and develop the Tax related infrastructure, processes, analyses for our rapidly growing company:

Managing the preparation of the interim and year-end global tax provision

Managing preparation of the corporate income tax returns (federal and state) for all Trulia entities

Reviewing all tax credit studies prepared by outside advisers

Reviewing the sales and use tax returns that are filed on a monthly basis

Reviewing the property tax returns filed in the US

Managing all tax audits

Provide support for M&A activity (due diligence and integration)


You should possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You have demonstrated in the past that you are very proactive in building efficient processes with the department. You work without a lot of technical guidance from your supervisor and can work on a very independent basis while using good business judgment. You are known to be a strong team player with significant interpersonal and technical skills, and pride yourself in being a detailed, accurate and results-oriented person.

6+ years of professional tax experience

Expert skill levels regarding corporate income tax compliance

Strong working knowledge of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and accounting for stock compensation (ASC 718)

Strong understanding of purchase accounting and how to address the tax accounting and impact to the tax returns

General technical understanding of sales and use taxes

General technical understanding of property taxes

Some experience with working on a US R&D tax credit study

Understanding of documentation requirements for SOX and internal controls

CPA qualification with an advanced degree in taxation preferred

Create and sustain methods and practices to improve the Company’s tax compliance processes

Core Business Competencies:
Ability to research US tax law and effectively communicate your analysis and conclusions

Good organization skills and leaves a good audit trail for the work performed

Good problem solving and analytical skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience working for and with a company through a period of high growth

Superior knowledge of US GAAP

Experience with lean process improvement methods and practices

Leadership skills (ability to take charge, confidence to interact with all levels, set objectives, drive results, and act as a team player)

Ability to multi-task, plan, execute and deliver on projects in a timely manner

Strict attention to detail and accuracy are required

Ability to tolerate ambiguity
