This position is responsible for developing a culture of learning and development across the organization. This includes the creation and delivery of training programs for all teammates at all levels, using the latest content, tools, systems and training techniques to deliver best in class training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partner with other training functions across the company to share best practices and leverage resources

  • Manage training and education budget

  • Partner with organizational leaders on the strategy, development, delivery of training

  • Oversee and manage the organization’s learning management system

  • Assist the departments by facilitating career development, workforce planning, and succession planning by analyzing staff capabilities, projecting demands, identifying the gaps between the two, developing solutions, and measuring the success of the solutions

  • Identify current and future required competencies, performance gaps and anticipated performance problems, as well as specific factors that contribute to the performance gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Provide consulting services to departments in all aspects of training and analyzes training requests, make recommendations to the appropriate person, and coordinate training activities with other departments and outside agencies

  • Assist departments to continuously improve the effectiveness of the performance management process

  • Plan and develop training procedures utilizing knowledge of relative effectiveness of individual training, classroom training, distance learning, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops

  • Facilitate training sessions using techniques that maximize learner participation, comprehension and application of the material

  • Continually evaluate all training activities to identify areas for improvement and drive overall effectiveness

  • Record and track training information, develop reports, and evaluate and measure training provided to ensure high customer satisfaction and determine the success of training outcomes

  • Develop trainer development programs and coach others involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities

  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis to assess utilization of outside training resources

  • Administer vendor/partner relationships with outside training services providers

Supervisory Duties:

Manage people and projects within the training and development department.

Education/Experience Necessary:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field

  • Five – Eight years in a training leadership role

Special Requirements:
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization

  • Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the human resources staff

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated success in a coaching/training role and ability to influence the behavior of others

  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and accomplishing multiple tasks

  • Ability to work independently
