Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages implementation of company H&S procedures and requirements for the Construction Environmental Services group. This includes assisting senior leaders with H&S stewardship, working with staff to implement the ARCADIS H&S Standards and behavior-based safety program, answering project related H&S questions, assisting with office specific H&S requirements, helping with Hazmat shipping requirements and fielding general how-to questions. Primary support efforts will be assistance to the Environment Division.
  • Conducts site visits and H&S assessments on relevant projects to assist project teams with H&S implementation, and determine compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Conducts office visits and meets with staff to reinforce H&S awareness, procedures and compliance, conducts brown bags on various H&S topics, and conducts audits of the office H&S program compliance
  • Assists the overall H&S department with ongoing H&S program development, improvement and regulatory changes.
  • Conducts H&S training (classroom and web based)
  • Participates in loss/near loss investigations as needed
  • Assists the Division H&S Directors in coordinating H&S needs for the respective division.
  • Works with project and client teams to integrate H&S into projects, assists with hazard recognition process, HASP review, JSA development
  • Participates and drives behavior-based safety program.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum years of experience: 12 years
  • Education required: BS in Health and Safety or related field
  • Registrations/Certifications required: OSHA, HAZWOPER
  • Skills required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop complex presentations to various leaders of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Years of experience preferred: 12 +
  • Education preferred: MS in Health and Safety
  • Registrations/Certifications preferred: CIH, CSP, CHMM and ASP
  • This position does require travel. Travel amount is negligible.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position.
  • This position does not manage others.
