ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Health Care
Administration and Policy in the School of Community Health Sciences invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor position,
commencing Fall, 2013. This is a 9-month, tenure track position. Applicants who can teach health care finance and accounting or health care
information systems and technology and at least two other health care administration courses including: U.S. health care system,
organizational management, operations management, quality improvement, strategic management, health care economics, health care policy and
politics, research methods, quantitative methods, health care law, or managed care. Other responsibilities include: developing and
maintaining an active research program leading to scholarly publications, serving on graduate student professional paper/project, theses or
dissertation committees, and participating in appropriate levels of service at the department, college, university and system levels.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Health Care Administration or related degree (e.g., Finance,
Accounting, Economics or other closely related field) Ph.D. degree from a regionally accredited college or university. ABDs considered but
must be complete by June 30, 2013. Applicants should provide evidence of a strong research program, or the potential to develop one.
University or college teaching experience is preferred. Professional experience in health care also a plus.
