Perform qualitative and quantitative review of a patient record (inpatient / ambulatory) to identify and track deficiencies for completion. Enter deficiencies into software program and create a deficiency form to place on individual record. Must be able to identify the correct physician and /or practitioner in order to hold appropriate person accountable for deficiencies of the medical record after discharge.
High School Education or GED
1-2 years experience in a medical records setting preferred
Knowledge of Medical Terminology a plus
Ability to organize and prioritize
Ability to multi-task and with multiple software programs
Ability to work in close quarters
Ability to work with all office equipment - fax, copier, microfilm, etc.
Ability to comprehend the different specialties and their specific requirements for each area.
Registered Health Information Technician certification preferred
