Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M HILL Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE)Superintendent - Prudhoe Bay, Alaska
The challenge? Helping ensure the supply of our world's oil and gas. At CH2M HILL, we deliver solutions that span the entire breadth of the oil industry.
Our HSE Superintendent job will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting and large scale oil and gas projects on the North Slope of Alaska. Each day you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of safety, health, environmental protection, and substance abuse prevention programs affecting employee and public safety, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection. In addition, you will serve as a resource for line management to develop and administer a proactive prevention program for accidents and illness in Alaska. You should be a self-motivated, detail oriented professional with a Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety and five years of progressive work experience in the health and safety field in an EPC environment with CIH or CSP certifications.
Our HSE Superintendent:
Develop, implement and maintain programs, systems and procedures under senior management direction, and act as a lead person or technical expert providing functional direction in the application of HSE programs.
Recommend and implement tactical direction for elements of HSE Program, and recommend improvements in processes, design procedures and safety equipment to minimize hazard levels.
Must keep fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in OSHA and EPA regulations, protective equipment requirements and permit requirements, and reviews and implements standards promulgated by regulatory authorities.
Responsible for the most complex technical work in a wide range of HSE disciplines to achieve program compliance.
Scope of work may include both the consulting and construction business units.

Lift 40 lbs from floor to knuckles x 2 (e.g., box of paper),
Lift 25 lbs from floor to waist x 2 (e.g., fire extinguisher),
Carry 40 lbs for 50 feet level surface (e.g., box of paper),
Carry 30 lbs up and down 2 flights of stairs and level surface for 150 feet (e.g., PPE in duffle bag),
Climb vertical ladder, 10 rungs, x 3 Climb stairs, 15 steps x 3,
Repetitive Kneeling Test: Perform from standing, kneel on one knee, alternate from left to right knee, x 5 each knee,
Repetitive Stoop Test: Perform from standing position, bend forward at waist as far as possible without bending the knees with hands reaching toward the floor x 5, self-paced, but continuous,
Repetitive Squat Test: Perform a functional squat and stand x 5, and
Repetitive Twist and Flex Test: Perform from standing alternate toe touches x 5 to each side to assess ability to twist and flex the trunk repetitively.

Additional Information :
This position is on a rotational schedule (2 weeks on/2 weeks off) on the North Slope of Alaska.
CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H-1B visa, etc) to fill this position.
Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided, however transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.
Basic Qualifications
BS required.
CIH or CSP certification
5 years progressive HSE experience in an EPC environment
One year supervisory experience in an EPC environment
Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured by CH2M HILL's auto insurer.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor or Masters degree in Occupational Health and Safety from an ABET accredited program
Five (5) years of progressive experience in the health and safety field in an EPC environment in a supervisory role
Arctic experience
Degree Required
Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
Certifications Required
Valid driver's license
