HEALTH & SAFETY SPECIALIST:
This position will share responsibility for the facilities H&S Programs and fulfill the rolls of the Emergency Preparedness & Response Technician.

Areas of responsibilities include:
Oversight of the facilities safety Performance

Follow H&S Duty Rotation Spreadsheet

Maintain current Health & Safety Programs’ updates to the Health & Safety web

Participate in the Safe Work Practices effort

Support Alaska Operations as Health & Safety opportunities are identified

Participation on SECOMA Team’s as needed

Conduct Incident Analysis and Investigations as required

Safety inspections and auditing and driving the employee safety culture for the NPR facility and associated terminals

Associated responsibilities are development, oversight, sustainability and auditing of the programs

NPR Emergency Preparedness & Response Technician responsibilities will include;

Responsible for the overall successful administration, equipping, recruiting, mentoring, coordination and training of volunteer ERT programs

Conduct periodic meetings with ERT lead members and issue periodic team communications as needed

ERT and disaster supply inventory and maintenance

Organization and participation of awareness and appreciation events

Physical incident response

Working knowledge of NFPA standards

Annual demonstration of all relevant documents during scheduled internal and external audits

Perform case management and coordinate accident investigations as required

ERT member web page administration, maintenance and support

Responsible for the development and maintenance of ERT Response Plans

Coordination and scheduling of periodic drills within assigned locations

Working familiarity of FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS)

Maintain a working relationship with industry, local, State, and Federal emergency preparedness & response personnel

Ability to provide reports and program metrics on a periodic basis

WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
·

Ability to work and resolve issues remotely with minimal supervision

·

Demonstrated history of incident response

·

Demonstrated excellent partnering and collaboration skills

·

Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills

·

Capable of meeting deadlines, effective multi-tasking and prioritization skills with a strong sense of urgency

·

Computer skills needed with a demonstrated ability to create spreadsheets and develop presentations

·

Some travel may be required

WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS PREFERRED:
3-5 years emergency response experience at a supervisory or manager level preferred

·

Knowledgeable in OSHA programs and Behavior Based Safety

·

Knowledgeable with broad spectrum of Health & Safety, PSM, IH and Occupational health compliance topics

·

Demonstrated ability to constructively challenge and collaborate

·

Knowledgeable and proficient with Microsoft Office applications

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
·

H/S Diploma or Equivalent

EDUCATION PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s Degree,

Firefighter II or higher certification

preferred but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS or UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the essential duties of this position, the Team Member will be exposed to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and exposed to chemicals. Qualified individuals must be able to meet call-in requirements as needed. Specific Physical requirements include:

Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, kneeling, crawling and grasping. Standing for extended periods of time, walking up to one (1) mile per day, and data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; Ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs. frequently (unassisted)

Ability to work in confined spaces and climb several flights of stairs and ladders up to 200 feet

Hearing, seeing (acuity - near far and depth)

Exposure to environmental conditions (frequently walking in and outdoors) with exposure to extreme cold and warm temperatures from -60 to +100 degrees

Must be willing to work around dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substances

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots and hearing protection)

Must be able to work rotational on-call, call-ins and weekend work as needed

Ability to work overtime as needed
