The Centralized Credentials and Privileging Directorate (CCPD) is part of the Navy's Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED). CCPD provides credentialing and privileging services worldwide to the Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Administration, and Department of Homeland Security. CCPD also serves Navy Recruiting Command, Navy Personnel Command, Navy Reserve Component Commands, Navy Reserve Forces Command, Navy Operational Support Centers, other governmental agencies, and private sector managed care organizations and health care systems. The CCPD Director (Health System Specialist) position leads a group of 27 full time employees in providing the highest quality and cost-effective credentialing and privileging services to Navy Medicine and other stakeholders while fully complying with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and Navy and DoD directives.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES:
Provides oversight for adverse actions between facility Medical Staff Leaders and Bureau of Medicine and Surgery Legal Department.

Prepares and presents high-level briefings of a sensitive and often subjective nature.

Coordinates the communication of information between Centralized Credentialing and Privileging Department (CCPD) internal/external customers and or higher authority.

Updates credentialing and privileging policies and procedures to reflect current requirements.

Manages the fiscal operation of the directorate including annual budget development, optimal staffing levels, and statistical analysis as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

For the GS-13:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Provide technical and procedural authority on credentials and privileging directives; 2) Create reports containing appropriate information as requested; and 3) Archive maintenance for all former and retired health care practitioners.

For the GS-14:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Managing and maintaining a credentials and priveliging program; 2) Using quality assurance systems to ensure optimal performance; 3) Research and analyze data in a comprehensive manner.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A secret security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

This position requires the successful completion of a Physical Examination.

Travels one to two weeks per year.
