Allstaff Services, a leader in the staffing industry, is looking for exceptional Health Unit Clerks for a Correctional Facility in Phoenix.

Responsibilities include:
Prepares daily sick call and daily lab sick call based on priority of patient medical needs; coordinates patient transportation to medical clinic by staff; prepares and ensures patient medical records are prepared and available for patient appointments.

Verify medical information and prescription medications with outside medical providers and pharmacies to ensure patients continue to receive required medication and medical care while incarcerated.

Transcribes and processes provider orders; schedules patient appointments; updates electronic patient information promptly;

Request medical charts from Central Records within a time frame and merge files to have a complete and updated medical chart.

Prepares and coordinates Magellan packets for Value Options by providing required copies of medical chart.

Responds to emergencies with nursing staff providing support with medical supplies needed for the emergency. (gurney and other supplies)

Maintains and organizes files, clinic records, forms and manuals.

Completes requisitions, inventories and orders supplies; copies and faxes health information appropriately; organizes and maintains a clean work environment.

Participates in orientation and training of new and contract staff; participates in-group problem solving and teamwork. Completes required classes and educational credits.

Maintains patient confidentiality. Complete required documentation, legibly, timely and accurately.

Minimum education and/or experience: Front office medical training and one (1) year front office experience in a medical office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exhibits a professional image in both appearance and behavior, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Must be well organized and able to work with a high degree of accuracy, complete documentation legibly.

Ability to transcribe doctors’ orders accurately and verify medication timely and accurately.

Able to accurately complete work in a timely manner.

Able to maintain an organized work environment.

Ability to comply with staffing and attendance policies.

Must be willing to work various assignments and float to various facilities, as needed.

Demonstrated knowledge and compliance with applicable safety policies and OSHA standards.

Ability to prioritize work; multitask; handle multiple phone lines; answer calls in a professional manner, scheduling appointments in the computer, filing loose paperwork, and accurately alphabetizing documents and records.

Demonstrate ability to accurately conduct and document visual/video monitor checks in the inpatient areas.

Ability to use computer.

Payrate: $13.00/hr

Candidates must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background screen.
