Coordinate daily operation duties of multiple service in support of patient care deliveries.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Five-year clerical or secretarial experience in health care setting.
Must demonstrate good organizational skills as well as professional grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Ability to utilize computer as required entering admissions, discharges, and daily and monthly reports.
Ability to deal with all member of the public in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner when in stressful situations.
Ability to work without constant supervision, and to initiate work on projects which need to be done accurately and efficiently.
CPR certification required.
Typing speed of 50 WPM
Primary language-English, knowledge of Yupik preferred.
Must have good communication skills and excellent telephone manners.
Prefer work background in medical facility and knowledge of medical terminology.
Transcribes and transmits doctor’s order to appropriate areas under supervision of a registered nurse, and confers with charge nurse regarding scheduling patient’s activities and tests.
Responsible for contacting the medevac teams when needed.
Maintains on-call list for the day and calls staff in at charge nurse’s request.
Contact security and maintenance as needed.
Assist patient and visitors in nursing unit as needed, and monitor visitor traffic after hours.
Prepares and keeps current census sheet, dietary, requisitions and other forms, and delivers them to the proper department as necessary. Completes and logs work orders as needed.
Mediates between patient/family and physician regarding travel appropriateness and presents case to physician, including Medicaid travel when social service worker is not available.
Replenish medevac packets including requisitions, cashing checks, and setting up overnight and non-overnight packets.
