Health and Safety Manager
to join our team in Wichita, KS
This role will be responsible of providing safety leadership and strategic direction to Koch Minerals facilities. The successful candidate will create long term value for the organization by ensuring that: Safety & Health Excellence and performance improvement is driven through real culture change; Safety & Health strategies effectively address each facility’s risk profile; effective implementation of health and safety programs, and appropriate leading and lagging metrics are in place and tracked.
The ideal candidate must be able to embrace change, possess strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to efficiently balance multiple priorities. The position requires strong verbal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences. The successful candidate must also be self-motivated, have sound decision making skills, and good organizational skills.
Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment
Acquisition and divestiture support
Emerging issue tracking
Assurance planning and related activities
Management of external contractors when workload requires additional help to meet obligations
5+ years Health and Safety experience
Working knowledge of health and safety regulations
Ability to develop and provide training to plant personnel on health and safety
Ability to identify health and safety compliance impacts from projects and process changes
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) to a wide variety of audiences (operations, management, agencies, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
Oil and Gas field services experience
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or demonstrated progress to achieve CSP
Chemical Hygiene, R&D and/or quality lab experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Industrial Hygiene Certification
Must be able to travel to operating sites located throughout the US and globally, enter plant operating sites to inspect operations and visit personnel, and have ability to access operating structures via stairways and ladders.
Must be able to obtain medical approval to wear a respirator.
