The Manager, QA & Compliance ensures that Center personnel adhere to all established policies, procedures and treatment protocols that govern the high quality and compassionate delivery of radiation therapy treatments provided at the Center. The incumbent will be the Quality Assurance and Compliance expert and the resource for all Quality Assurance and Compliance issues. This individual will also serve as the Center Compliance Officer and the Center Privacy Officer. The incumbent will work as a liaison between the Corporate Patient Care team, treatment staff and other Center staff to maintain appropriate communication and a quality care environment.

• Works with Center President and directors to provide high quality, compassionate and consistent care
• Works with partner hospitals to coordinate patient care and assure QA compliance
• Works directly with Center MDs and other providers/partners to correct any QA issues discovered
• Administers the Risk Management process for the Center

Compliance Officer:
• Works closely with other center staff to assure QA and regulatory compliance
• Maintains a current knowledge of state medical event reporting procedures (if any) and assures Center compliance
• Creates and executes the annual Center Compliance Plan
• Responds to compliance and ethics reports received via the hotline or web portal
• Provides assistance to the Radiation Safety Officer as needed, to help ensure compliance to the Radiation Safety Program

Quality Assurance:
• Maintains the electronic document library. Assists in the creation, change and obsolescence of Center policy and procedure. Participates in the implementation of new policies and procedures, as required.
• Establishes, maintains, and executes the internal audit schedule for the Center. Facilitates third party audits, e.g. Joint Commission, Department of Health, etc. Plans and completes any required supplier audits.
• Assists in the preparation and presentation of the monthly quality management review
• Investigates and provides reports regarding incidents at the Center
• Works to maintain Center performance to Joint Commission standards. Acts as the liaison to state regulatory agencies.
• Responsible for the physician credentialing and privileging process
• Educates staff on quality assurance and compliance requirements

• A minimum of five years working in either Quality Assurance or Health Care Compliance
• Work experience related to Health Information Management a plus

• Knowledge of medical billing compliance preferred
• Knowledge of Joint Commission / American College of Radiology accreditation requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to interact with all levels of personnel
• Technical problem solving
• Excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products IMPAC or Varian record and PeopleSoft a plus
• Teaching and coaching skills
• Ability to work flexible hours if needed
• Ability to travel for educational / training purposes, including overnight

• Bachelor’s degree in science, health care or related field
• MBA, MPH, JD or similar graduate degree preferred

• ASQ Certification, CQE or CQA, preferred
• Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC or CHCO)
Note: If the incumbent is not certified in health care compliance then the incumbent will have one year after hire to obtain certification
