Solazyme is seeking a highly motivated full-time Help Desk Analyst to join our team. You will provide support to both onsite and remote end users. The position involves troubleshooting, installing and repairing of personal (Macintosh & Windows) and lab-based desktops/laptops and associated software. Additionally, you will deploy, configure, and troubleshoot mobile devices, printers, video conferencing, presentation equipment, and VOIP phones. You will provide technology training and documentation as well as the documentation of end-user requests and incident resolution. You will be working with a friendly and creative IT team who encourage self-growth and learning.

Provide ender-user support and first-tier troubleshooting of all user issues on Windows and Mac computers.

Assign, respond, prioritize, and manage all incoming issues and requests from either the electronic helpdesk ticketing system or walk-in requests.

Troubleshoot, install, and repair both Macintosh and Windows computers, VOIP phones, video conferencing and presentation equipment.

Manage user moves/adds/changes, including computer, phone, and printer relocation and setup.

Troubleshooting, installing, and repairing both Macintosh and Windows computers, VOIP phones, video conferencing and presentation equipment.

Assist with IT Department documentation as needed, including knowledge based articles, computer and peripheral inventory, software licenses, wiring records, and form creation.

Maintain IT stocks and supplies along with tracking and receiving IT equipment into inventory storeroom.

Manage computer inventory, including retiring, recycling and redeployment of computers

Train staff and operate both video and audio conferencing as well as presentation equipment.

Follow lab safety policies and procedures

Special projects that will need to be managed in tandem with your daily tasks.

On-call coverage at off-hours as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience in desktop/helpdesk support.

BS or Associates degree in a technology or computer science field. Certifications are not required, though helpful.

Strong attention to detail and outstanding customer service skills.

High level of energy, professionalism, motivation and organization. Able to work with minimal supervision. Team player with a positive attitude and pitches in to help wherever needed. Great communicator, both verbally and in writing, along with great listener skills.

Demonstrates patience when problem-solving complex technical issues, in person and over the phone, with customers with diverse technology skills.

Demonstrate capacity for analytical thinking and rapid problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with PC and Macintosh desktop hardware, software and operating systems.

Ability to support iPhone, iPad, Android, and other mobile devices, with synchronization to Exchange data.

Ability to troubleshoot and support network connections for both workstations and printers, VPN, and wireless environments.

Ability to develop scripts and batch files to automate procedures.

Must have a technical skills set to troubleshoot and resolve service calls, including knowledge (or familiarity) of the following: Windows 2000/XP/7, Macintosh OS 10.7 and above, Linux, Microsoft Office suite 2007/2010 with advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook; Firefox, Chrome, IE, Adobe Suites, MS Exchange, computer imaging, and HTML. Ability to life moderately heavy equipment ( e.g. Servers, Desktop computers, printers, etc..)
