Position Description :
Function as a technical subject matter expert on AOC Network Administration for an information processing organization that provides field level support for AOC operations worldwide, including: Provide operational and technical assistance for installation, configuration, and maintenance of communications systems and networks supporting the AOC Weapon System. Plan internal AOC network to include routers, switches and hubs. Monitor and control networks, available bandwidth, and hardware and software resources. Activate circuits, end-to-end troubleshooting for circuit and network outages, and coordinate with theater J6, AF NCC, and AOC site as required. Maintain equipment and communications infrastructure in support of displays within the AOC. Manage internal AOC networks. Implement and enforce national, DOD and Air Force security policies to protect networks from internal and external threats (Includes perimeter security system (PSS), boundary security system (BSS), and Information Server Environment (ISSE) guard as required.
Install, configure, upgrade security hardware and perform security intrusion assessments. Monitor C2 system network capabilities and limitations. Configure network hardware and software to specifications. Participate in Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of C2 network systems and new technologies. Assist with development and evaluation of training plans, and training related to AOC network administration.
Provide on-site support to research and development efforts relating to the AOC Weapon System and/or TBMCS integration, operation, and testing in support of test and exercise events. Support will be on an ad hoc basis and may require CONUS and OCONUS travel.
Represent the AOC Help Desk, when directed by government leadership, at meetings regarding network administration issues.
Responsible for supporting the following equipment: Core Infrastructure, Cisco 6509 distribution switch, Cisco 3512, 3524, 3548, 3550 access switches, HP Openview and CiscoWorks, Future enterprise Cisco switching equipment, Boundary Security System, Cisco 3845 external and internal routers, Cisco 3750 external, internal and DMZ switches, Sidewinder Firewall appliance, ASIM Intrusion Detection System, Cisco VPN 3005 and Safenet Appliance Virtual Private Networks, Adonis Appliance Domain Name Server, AOC Communications Enhancement Package, AccessNet, Joint Range Extender, AF Tactical Receive Suite (AFTRS), Global Broadcast System (GBS).
