NCI: As a Help Desk Specialist (Desktop Support Technician II) with NCI, you will have the opportunity to support a critical Army mission by interacting daily with the customer to ensure continued productivity. You will be providing reliable and quick resolutions when issues arise by calling upon your experience supporting Network, Hardware, Software, and various other needs as they arise. The knowledge and experience you will gain will prepare you for continued growth within NCI. This position is within the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) on Ft Bragg, NC.
Highlights of Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 IT support for all computer and network related problems
Provide limited troubleshooting support for NEC standard applications and telecommunications systems
Receive calls from NEC customers and log problems into Remedy related to Network Security/Connectivity, NEC-standard applications, and Fort Bragg telecommunication systems
Create and track computer/network work orders using Remedy and escalate as necessary
Submit work orders/trouble tickets for new installs and existing telephone
Maintain user accounts and process password resets
Monitor the NEC security cameras and building access
Monitor network equipment and notify appropriate personnel of any network outages
Provide switch MAC resets
Provide circuit resets
Monitor environmental alarms
Recommend methods to improve NEC operations and Customer Management Branch (CMB) Standard Operating Procedures
Process all applicable service requests IAW CIO/G6 C4IM service list and other applicable guidance
CompTIA A+ Certification obtained within the last 3 years
MCITP-Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 (or must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
Minimum 2 years of Help Desk Support
Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Vista and Active Directory Structure
Working knowledge of SMS or other remote tools
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
Experience with CAC readers
Experience with Remedy
Must be able to work flexible shifts to include weekends, holidays, and overtime. This is a day shift, Tuesday through Saturday
Preferred Education and Experience
Associates degree in an IT related field
