Overview:
The qualified Help Desk Specialist provides phone and in-person support to users in areas which include e-mail, LAN/WAN, directories, standard desktop images and applications, COTS and GOTS applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and correct problems with computer hardware and software
  • Documents procedures for the solution of application and computer network problems in trouble ticketing system
  • Replacement of peripheral devices
  • Conduct training for end users
  • Building images for workstations and deploying
  • Maintains warranty standards, including installation of terminals and associated hardware
  • Establishes back-ups and monitors site security
  • Assists with the administration of user accounts, passwords, and email
  • Communicating with the end user and team members
  • Support transition from existing to new financial or travel system
  • Support ad-hoc requests (Discoverer, SQL, Cognos) for specialized reporting for FFMS / FT on intermittent and recurring schedules
  • Provide scheduled audit log reports for security reviews as requested
  • Provide reports for determining Contractor performance on managing Remedy Queues
  • Provide Internal Control reports, as requested, to validate adherence to all internal controls
  • Assist in planning and directly supports the transition from an existing system to a new system

Qualifications:
  • 15 years of relevant experience, education, certifications, or training in one or more areas including information technology, telecommunications, computer languages, IA, operating systems, database/DBMS and middleware
  • Experience with the Federal Financial Management System (FFMS) and FedTravler System
  • Must have a high level of integrity to handle confidential and proprietary information
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills and organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills; both oral and written
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to speak, write and read English
  • Active DoD issued security clearance and / or ability to obtain and maintain a government issues security clearance

Education :
  • Bachelor Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, training and relevant experience
