Provides support to end-users for PC, server or mainframe applications, and hardware. May interact with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems. Refers more complex problems to intermediate and/or senior level. Trains users on network operation. Reports to the Senior Help Desk Specialist and Senior Systems Administrator/Site Lead.
Maintains all Windows Workstations, Citrix Workstations, Printers, Plotters, Scanners and Fax machines. Maintains operating systems, application software, anti-virus software, hardware adds, replacements, moves, changes, removal and troubleshooting connectivity issues with associated network devices and resolving Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA). Provides problem monitoring and tracking and ensure unresolved IT problems are added to the work backlog. Monitor and track the status of all problems until resolution using tools such as Remedy. Manages on-site repairs and maintenance of personal and laptop computers, Altiris CM, anti-virus SW, wireless technology, and MS applications.
As needed, provides user training, manages software and hardware assets, assists with software deployments and assists configuration manager with lab configuration items.
A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Linux
College Degree preferably in an Information Technology related filed. Will consider 4 applicable years of experience in lieu of degree
