Help Desk Support Specialist- Full-time position available in the Information Technology Services Department. The Help Desk Support Specialist maintains campus computing and services equipment in service to students, staff and visitors. The helpdesk support specialist is responsible to support information technology systems for constituent usage. The Help Desk Support Manager reports to the Helpdesk Manager



• Technical support via phone and e-mail for faculty, staff and students.

• Identify problem trends with technology and present possible solutions to Help Desk Manager

• Assist technology users with problems in technology enable spaces (smart classrooms, computer labs, distance learning rooms, etc.)

• Educate users in best practices for technology use when the opportunity arises

• Assist I.S. staff maintain technical support documentation on website

• Monitor network and server performance (via software tools)

• Assist with technology projects under the supervision of the Help Desk Manager

• Help Desk activity reporting

• Assist in training other Help Desk staff including new student workers

• On-call work outside of normal hours may be required

• Other duties as assigned

Critical Physical Demands :

• Frequently required to lift 20-45 pound objects or assist in moving heavy equipment.

• Frequently sit, stand walk and climb stairs

• Frequently able to stoop, kneel and bend

• Occasionally able to grasp and perform fine manipulation

• Occasionally able to climb ladders

• Occasionally able to work overhead

• Occasionally able to push and pull

• Shift or work areas may vary

Skill requirements:

• Must be able to read and write

• Basic math skills needed

Initial schedule for this position (subject to change):

• Monday through Thursday 12:00pm to 10:00pm (Dinner break 4:00pm- 5:00pm)

• Friday 9:00am – 2:00pm (Lunch break 12:00pm 1:00pm)

Education and Preferred Experience : Bachelor’s degree required. Specialized computer technology training preferred. One year experience in computer repair. Experience supporting Microsoft and Apple operating systems, printers and networking. Customer service experience is a must. Two years of progressively responsible work experience. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical exam, drug screen and background check. A committed and dynamic Christian faith is vital along with the ability to support the university’s theological position, lifestyle standards and mission.
