Sapling Learning has contract openings to help create dynamic high school content. Authors would perform one or more tasks, including working on eBooks, interactive questions, or presentation files. Authors are needed for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics projects.
Using both outside knowledge and provided material to perform a combination of the following in the voice and style of Sapling Learning:
Authoring/reviewing subchapters of eBooks in Microsoft Word.
Authoring/reviewing interactive questions in Sapling Learning's question authoring software.
Authoring/reviewing presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Self-revising to eliminate typos, grammatical errors, and deviations from style guide before submission.
Revising work as needed upon receiving reviews after submission.
Reply promptly to questions via phone and/or email.
A combination of at least two years experience teaching high school science and/or authoring published content.
Must be able to commit at least 20 hours a week to project for at least 6 months.
Strong technical background, preferably in web-based solutions.
Possesses strong computer skills including strong Word capabilities and proven ability to master software systems.
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
Is adaptable, flexible, and collaborative.
Experience writing using ACS style guide preferred.
Experience as a professor, classroom teacher, tutor, or teaching assistant strongly preferred.
Upon hire, must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics required.
Masters or PhD (in progress qualifies) in Science or Science Education preferred.
Work can be completed remotely.
