About KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools

KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools (KMCS) are college preparatory public schools designed to educate students in underserved communities. KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools are modeled after the Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) which is known for having high expectations and focusing on results. The mission of KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools is to ultimately prepare students with the academic and life skills to compete in rigorous high schools, colleges, and the competitive world beyond.

The KIPP Network Schools believe there are no shortcuts when it comes to helping educationally disadvantaged students succeed academically. KIPP students arrive daily at 7:15 a.m. and are dismissed at 5:00 p.m. Students also attend twice monthly Saturday School and three weeks of Summer School. A longer school day and a longer school year provide more time on task to acquire the academic knowledge and skills that will prepare them for future success.
