Statcare (a division of Summit Medical Group) has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hospitalist NPP to join their group. This position reports to the Site Manager and/or the site-managing physician, as deemed appropriate by the managing site physician. Position will provide primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the hospital, following established standards of practice. Position will be required to work: 17 shifts per month, 2 weekends per month, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (List does not include all duties assigned) Performs complete physical exams, obtains complete medical histories, and records findings. Orders (and, as appropriate, performs) appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Determines preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans by obtaining, interpreting and integrating data. Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments. Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs. Assists physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Triages calls to the hot beeper'. Maintains certification required for the position; attends continuing medical education, as appropriate. Performs duties in a professional manner while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative demeanor to patients, co-workers, management and the public. Maintains strict confidentiality. Adheres to all aspects of the corporate compliance plan. Performs other related duties as appropriate.
EDUCATION: BSN, MSN preferred. Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program. EXPERIENCE: Prefer a minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus two years of nurse practitioner experience. CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current state Registered Nursing (RN) license and Advanced Practical Nurse certification required.
