Position Purpose

As a member of the Hosting Team, this role is responsible for managing and driving adherence to ongoing service levels for hosted clients, as well as participating in the various client project engagements. The position will focus on monitoring existing projects and applications as well as documenting unplanned service interruptions, monitoring site behavior post-update, and day-to-day operations analysis.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Participate in a team environment, assisting with hosting tasks and responsibilities

Release management for code releases

To assist and improve processes facilitating stable code releases

To audit and refine application logging

To be familiar with three-tier application architectures, load balancing, and content distribution networks

Ability to analyze and diagnose load balanced pre-production and production web environments

Adhering to and tracking change control processes

Stay abreast of latest advances in web hardware, software, security, and networks

Understanding of SQL Database Functionality, Administration, and Architecture.

Monitor hardware, software, and network problems utilizing hardware and software testing, tools, and techniques

Work with support service groups to ensure appropriate notification during outages or periods of degraded system performance, assist compilation of incident reports and outages (client facing) when needed

Identify problems and report hardware/software/network malfunctions

Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

The Hosting Analyst role requires cross-platform technology and customer skills as well as research and troubleshooting capabilities. Must be available for 24x7 on call support

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Years of Relevant Experience

2-4 years

Cisco CCNA

Red Hat RHCE

Microsoft MCSE

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

Microsoft’s Windows technologies (2003, 2008, IIS6, IIS7, Active Directory)

Hands on skills within the areas of:
Linux System Administration

Solaris System Administration

Virtualization Technologies

Mail system administration (Postfix/Sendmail/Exchange)

TCP/IP and Routing Basics

Monitoring of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 2003 & 2008 server), Cisco ASA, Cisco IOS, IIS Server, DNS, SFTP, and RAID configurations

High availability web hosting

HTTP Load Balancing

MS SQL/MySQL Database Administration and Troubleshooting

Ability to perform end-to-end troubleshooting of complex environments both utilizing network management tools as well as manually reviewing logs, which lead to the identification of an incident root cause

Experience with disaster recovery and IT security procedures and implementation

Superior judgment, problem resolution, decision-making skills, & the ability to work under aggressive deadlines

Ability to be client focused, strategic in thinking and direction, and possess business acumen.

Must possess technical experience with a good ability to quickly learn new systems and technology.
