Monitors the campus-wide Building Automation System (Johnson Controls/Siemens); fire, security, and life safety systems; and emergency elevator phones. Receives incoming calls via telephone, radio, and e-mail for information, maintenance, and emergency response; makes decisions regarding the operation and status of mechanical equipment throughout the campus in remote locations; dispatches appropriate personnel when necessary without the aid of immediate supervision; maintains daily activity and response log; and creates work requests using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system. Checks out keys and temporary parking permits and takes direction from the Assistant Manager of Building Systems. Overtime, extended shifts, and emergency call-ins occur on an as-needed basis.

REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and one year building maintenance experience.
Ability to operate a computer, including Windows, CMMS, Outlook, building automation system and alarm systems; ability to multitask in stressful situations; good organizational skills and excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; and ability to speak in a calm, clear fashion at all times and work in a team environment. Valid Indiana driver’s license and ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Preferred: Prior work in facility control systems, building automation systems, HVAC and electrical systems, and building maintenance/construction.
This is an Hourly position that may work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, including weekends and holidays.
