Responsible for cleaning, upkeep and preparing for use the public buildings, meeting spaces and offices at Heifer Ranch.
Work as a part of a team providing excellent customer service to Heifer Ranch visitors and staff as directed by Housekeeping Coordinator.
Clean, keep attractive and sanitary the public areas of the Ranch, interior and exterior, including; conference center, lodges, bunk barn, public restrooms and meeting spaces.
Clean staff offices and program areas as directed by Housekeeping Coordinator.
Clean, upon request by Volunteer Services, parts of volunteer housing.
Perform light maintenance tasks (ex: power washing, painting, moving furniture, etc.).
Provide effective and responsible leadership in the absence of the Housekeeping Coordinator. May also supervise housekeeping volunteers as assigned.
Perform excellent quality control on all assigned tasks (from overall impression to small details) to ensure a positive experience for visitors.
Have a clear understanding of and appreciation for Heifer International’s mission.
Uphold all policies and procedures.
Perform other job related responsibilities as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Other Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Two (2) years' job-related experience.
Most Critical Proficiencies
Ability to follow directions and independently complete assigned tasks (written or verbal).
Appreciation of cleanliness and basic knowledge of how to clean and maintain public use facilities and offices (gained through professional experience or has the willingness to learn).
Essential Job Functions and Physical Demands:
Ability to work a varied schedule to include early mornings, weekends and some evenings.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms) as required during some routine cleaning responsibilities.
Ability to climb steps and stairs, squat/kneel to work on floors and reach under beds, lift and turn mattresses, and perform this physically demanding work on a regular basis.
Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity as an effective team member and work cooperatively with a diverse staff including sensitivity in working with multiple age ranges, cultures and beliefs.
Ability to follow procedures, expectations and rules even while working unsupervised.
Ability to maintain high standards for cleanliness while working under time constraints.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
