Performs specific cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic
environment throughout the hospital. The individual may be assigned
to any one of several positions to include: patient area cleaner,
non-patient area cleaner, trash technician, special care unit
cleaner, and/or others. Cleans and services areas in building
according to their area assignments including but not limited to the
following: Sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting any and all
rooms in the hospital. Participating in project work that may include
but not limited to wall washing, window washing, cleaning light
fixtures, cleaning upholstery, changing cubicle curtains and drapes,
cleaning vents, scrubbing restrooms, floor stripping, carpet
extracting, etc. Preparing rooms for new patients. Removing
trash/linen from their specific areas of assignment. Maintaining
floors to include: buffing, waxing stripping refinishing, etc.
Policing, (tidying up) waiting rooms, lounges, staff areas, etc.
Reporting discrepancies to immediate supervisor. Responding to
housekeeping requests from other hospital personnel and reporting
these to their supervisor. Cleaning and replenishing of supplies and
equipment. Perform other duties, as assigned.
A high school education required.
Ability to understand and communicate in
English both verbally and in writing. Additionally, to be able
to follow written and/or oral instructions, and to record completed
