The Department of General Services, Bureau of Facilities Management, is seeking a qualified professional Housekeeping Worker to ensure a clean, safe & healthy environment for tenants occupying and visitors to state owned building and the State Capitol located in Richmond, Virginia.
The position requires extensive knowledge and experience of cleaning techniques, methods, materials, equipment and chemicals for a wide variety of surfaces to include floors in an office environment. Knowledge in stripping, waxing, and shampooing is preferred. Individuals must understand and follow safety practices in using cleaning chemicals and supplies, and must be familiar with the sanitation standards for a public facility. Knowledge & experience using commercial grade materials & housekeeping equipment is preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are required.
The selected candidate must be able to work 3:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., as well as some weekends and holidays. A High School Diploma, or equivalent is required.
