The Department of General Services, Bureau of Facilities Management, is seeking a qualified professional Housekeeping Worker to ensure a clean, safe & healthy environment for tenants occupying and visitors to state owned buildings located in Richmond, Virginia.
This position requires general knowledge and experience of cleaning techniques, methods, materials, equipment and chemicals for a wide variety of surfaces to include flooring in an office environment. The selected candidate must understand and follow safety practices in using cleaning chemicals and supplies, and must be familiar with the sanitation standards for a public facility. The selected candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Incumbent must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Experience stripping, waxing and buffing floors is preferred.
This position requires the ability to work 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., some weekends and holidays may be required.
The selected candidate must pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
