General Summary of Duties :|
The Houseperson will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all assigned public and non-public areas.
Typical Physical/Mental Demands :
Requires mobility. Move and transport supplies and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Reach overhead and bend from floor to and including ceiling. Climb stairs and ladders. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and colors. Normal sense of smell, touch, and sound.
Typical Working Conditions :
Work is performed in assigned areas of the hotel. Use and exposure to cleaning solvents and chemicals. Exposure to fume, odor, and dust hazards. Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following) :
1. Ensure guest hallways are maintained and clean.
2. Assist Room Attendants with removing soiled linen and trash from guest rooms.
3. Complete daily assignment sheet.
4. Ensure trash bins by guest elevators are emptied on a regular basis.
5. Report any deficiencies on guest hallways and other areas to Floor Supervisor.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Performance Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities) :
Knowledge of proper chemical handling. Knowledge of proper floor care equipment usage and upright and advance vacuum cleaners. Ability to communicate using a telephone, radio, or pager. Ability to perform basic math skills. Ability to communicate effectively in English and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and guests. Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.
