Develops and implements programs, projects, and special affordable housing initiatives that comply with HUD regulations.
Analyzes housing needs and existing housing data, monitors trends and demographics in affordable housing, identifies issues and problem areas, addresses problem areas in zoning and development and develops programs and projects to meet identified needs.
Develops housing preservation and community stabilization activities to address housing problem areas and develops implementation strategies consistent with County needs and the strengths of implementation partners.
Interacts with developers, attorneys, public and private funding partners in matters related to the development of multi-million dollar housing projects.
Makes presentations related to departmental activities.
Monitors the update of information on housing related activities into IDIS by housing division staff for compliance with deadlines and accuracy of data.
Monitors activities of agencies, sub grantees and other funding recipients for compliance with contract requirements.
Evaluates management and programmatic capacity of agencies and provides technical assistance as needed.
Compiles financial packages and reviews payment requests.
Evaluates requests for funding from citizens, nonprofit agencies, and other entities for compliance.
Stays abreast of trends and unmet needs with regard to affordable housing and makes recommendations for the development and implementation of affordable housing programs and projects to meet those needs.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Community Development, Economics, Finance or a related field; two years of experience in developing and implementing affordable housing programs, community development programs, or a related field. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. An equivalent combination of training and directly-related experience will be considered.
