Purpose of Position
To implement community planning activities that increase and/or maintain the mandated use of masonry products within communities located in a designated area of the Texas Masonry Council.

Primary Duties:
80% - MPP Community Outreach Activities
Identify and target communities based upon a variety of data and factors that have the high probability of increased construction activity and initiate appropriate protocol to establish relationships that will ultimately lead to the passage of regulations that mandate the use, or increased use, of masonry products. Identify, establish and initiate the best strategy to ensure that each respective targeted community will adopt such regulations. Strategies include, but are by no means limited to: phone calls, cold calls, personal meetings with staff/ appointed officials/elected officials, attending community meetings (City Council, Planning and Zoning, etc), making presentations, entertaining, reviewing relevant data, reviewing current codes and policies, drafting Masonry Planning Policies and researching existing policies.

10% - Protect/Maintain existing MPP’s against threats
Maintain personal relationships with staff/elected officials/appointed officials in communities with existing MPP’s with the goal of gaining knowledge from those individuals anytime any existing MPP is threatened. Work with contacts in those communities to develop and implement strategy to protect or even increase the current masonry standard.

5%- Attend Conferences/ Meetings and provide weekly and oral reports to supervisor
Attend Annual Conferences related to the MPP effort and attend all Houston Masonry Contractor Association Monthly Meetings. Attend Houston Area APA Meeting. Attend other TMC meetings as required. Provide detailed monthly written reports on all activities and maintain weekly personal contact with supervisor. Maintain personal relationships with the board members of the Houston Masonry Contactor Association.
