(.66 FTE, 23 hours/week, 12- month, benefits eligible, regular salary grade 6)
Manages all operational aspects of the college’s Howard Hughes Medical Institute Science Education grant under the direction of the faculty Program Director and the HHMI Steering Committee. Responsibilities include aiding in the implementation of all grant programs, new and old, which involves interacting and coordinating with many campus individuals responsible for different grant programs; working in conjunction with the College’s Restricted Funds Accountant to manage grant accounts by overseeing disbursements to individuals who contribute to grant-supported programs, paying appropriate invoices, and maintaining the funds in balance; preparing the annual financial report to HHMI and long-term data gathering to track the outcomes of grant-supported programs; maintaining the HHMI website at Swarthmore College and scheduling and organizing meetings of the HHMI Steering Committee.
Required credentials, skills and abilities:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a science field or science education, plus a minimum of three years experience that includes budget management and report writing. The successful candidate should be well-organized, an independent worker, have strong oral and written communication skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under deadlines. Should be proficient with Excel and Word, and will need to develop proficiency with other software and interactive websites, including HHMI’s Grants Central website and the college’s file-sharing program.
