We are currently seeking an Human Resource Business Partner to cover our Toronto and Ontario region.

The HRBP will function as a business partner who advises the region’s management team in the development and implementation of HR strategies in support of business objectives. In addition, they will also:
• Serves as active member of the management teams of the business
• Partners with specialists in staffing, compensation, employee development and training to ensure that all HR capabilities are fully delivered to the business entity
• Coaches and develops the leadership skills of managers
• Work with key executives to implement HR initiatives in support of the business objectives and contribute to the development of strategy and business plans throughout the designated region.
• As a developer of human capital, promotes the development of employees
• Provides coaching and feedback in the creation of personal development plans
• Consults with managers on filling open exempt-level positions, proposing qualified internal candidates and partnering with staffing specialists to recruit external candidates as necessary
• Leads semi-annual HR Review process, facilitating the implementation of succession plans for key positions
• Research and respond on behalf of the Company in legal proceedings including EEOC charges
• Work as an employee advocate, positions self as a confidential advisor for career-related issues
• Regularly visits field locations and initiates interaction with employees to enhance the perceived visibility and approachability of the HR function
• Stays in touch with employee perceptions of the work environment through interactions and more formal means, including the employee opinion survey and exit interviews, and uses this knowledge to anticipate issues and take actions
• Promotes understanding of human resources policies and procedures and the successful implementation of HR initiatives
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Business or Human Resources-related discipline with undergraduate degree in technical or business discipline
• 7 + years of progressively responsible experience in a large, multinational industrial company with a focus on employee and organizational development
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws and regulations
• Working knowledge of all HR functional areas
• Proven ability to assess talent and to provide constructive feedback and coaching/mentoring
• Proven ability to influence senior managers, establish and maintain collaborative relationships and provide thought leadership across the organization
• Professional executive demeanor; outstanding presence, self-confidence and communication skills
• Business driven with strong financial and operational acumen
• Proven track record of advancement, leadership and success
• Previous consulting experience a plus
