Human Resource Generalist II
The HR Generalist supports all functional areas for HR within the Des Moines Storm Door Division. Leads the planning, development and implementation of HR systems required for the success of corporate-wide projects or initiatives. Assingnments will deal with routine and complex issues. Leads the planning, development and implementation of HR processes and programs.
Advises management regarding HR policies and practices and their application. Ensures consistnecy between department and corporate practices and their application. Ensures consistency between department and corporate practices; recommends changes or adoptions where appropriate and implements those changes.
Receives assistance or refers some complex issue to Manager.
Assists in keeping employees informed of all changes in HR policies. Counsels management and employees on HR issues and assists in the solutions and appropriate adjustments to employee concerns.
Investigates and analyzes individual situations and recommend appropriate action in situations.
Provides organizational development work with guidance from HR manager or outside OD consultant.
Strong HR generalist background.
Bachelors degree and 8+ years experience with increased levels of responsibility.
Fully competent in the areas of compensation administration, benefits, employee placement and performance management disciplines.
Union experience highly desired.
Strong interpersonal communication, writing and decision making skills.
Ability to research information and analyze data, arrive at valid conclusions make recommendations and plan of action.
Strong knowledge of laws and regulations relating to HR and employement functions.
