Reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and Payroll/Affirmative Action Officer and is responsible for the administration of a variety of human resources tasks and projects. Contributes to department projects, policies, and activities; performs liaison work between the department and the internal and external community
Bachelors degree in related field and 3 years experience;
Knowledge and ability in preparing forms, reports and graphs;
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information in confidential and professional manner; Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a high traffic office under stressful conditions; Ability to assume responsibility for insuring compliance to policies; Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; Displays a spirit of college community, respect, and teamwork through active participation in all college areas (i.e., committees, college sponsored events, etc.); Exhibits an appreciation for diversity through performance of daily responsibilities and also must possess exceptional customer service and organizational skills and; Must be a team player with strong appreciation for how diversity affects workplace dynamics. Working experience in higher ed; ability to use Banner and HR/ CMS (Peoplesoft) software applications preferred.
Prepares computerized reports utilizing automated personnel management information systems; Participates in the ongoing implementation, maintenance, and reporting needs of information systems in the Division of Human Resources; Provide support to the payroll team in regard to payroll/benefit information to employees; Provide support to HR team through HRCMS . Assists with the planning and coordination of events and programs tasked to the Division of Human Resources;
Coordinates the planning of employee Wellness activities;
Composes departmental correspondence (i.e., College Organizational charts);Perform all tasks associated with AFSCME and MCCC / MTA grievance database, scheduling, and files;
Assist with tasks associated with departmental research, special projects, surveys and reports for President’s office, legal counsel, various other organizations and college departments;
Serve as liaison between the Vice President and internal and external contacts (i.e., Massachusetts Board of Higher Education, Community College Legal Counsel, etc.);
Performs liaison work between the department, the Diversity Committee and the community; Provide customer service, information, and assistance to visitors and callers; Builds and maintains teamwork with members of the Division of Human Resources and Information Technology Services; Works as a team member with others to provide appropriate departmental coverage and; Perform other duties as assigned.
