In this role, the Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for a variety of complex administrative duties relating to personnel functions and programs in the areas of HR, recruitment, onboarding, compliance and HRIS. Provides information and assistance to employees regarding human resources activities, processes, policies, and procedures. Coordinates activities related to area of assignment. Performs a variety of tasks requiring specialized knowledge related to area of assignment. High degree of customer service required for the important support role.
Maintain personnel files and documentation; respond to employment verifications
Manage employee onboarding process and paperwork
Prepare source documentation needed for new hires, or effective changes in pay, status, or benefits.
Prepare paperwork needed to create new employee profile and to place new employee
Prepare packets for new hires, leaves of absences, and change of statuses. Make sure employee file records are up-to-date by handling changes in employee status in timely manner; Ensure proper approvals on forms and enter changes in the system
Coordinate logistics for in-service trainings, staff retreats, benefits presentations
HR process and documentation
Process termination letters, schedule exit interviews
Maintain and update HR policies; oversee HR recognition and engagement functions
Process new hire paperwork ensuring SOX compliance
Provide details regarding New Hire Orientation.
Process employee verifications
Liaison with Travel, Backgrounds, Accounts Payable and Hiring Managers.
Schedule interviews with external and internal candidates, recruiters and manager, using Microsoft Outlook Calendars.
Arrange travel, candidate meet and greet and expense reimbursements.
Applicant tracking, reporting and administration using JobVite database.
Initiate background checks and monitor status, noting when cleared for hire.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required; preferably in Human Resources
1-2+ years in a HR Support role or Human Relations/Benefits Administration; HRIS and reporting experience highly desired; passion for learning and keen interest in a career in HR required
Solid skills in MS Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel and Databases
Strong interpersonal skills
Must display exemplary customer service skills and use discretion and maturity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
Flexible and able to complete multiple projects within a fast-paced environment; Possess a strong sense of deadlines and timelines, with strict attention to detail and follow up
Demonstrated organizational skills
