This position is located in the Department of Labor, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Boston, MA.
This position has promotion potential to GS-07. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval.

Provides advisory services to employees regarding the Federal Employees Group Life Insurance, Federal Employees Health Benefits and Thrift Savings Plan and ensures the prompt submission and processing of these forms. Generates and reviews periodic reports from the system to identify discrepancies between HR Connect and NFC systems and takes appropriate action on suspended or pending transactions. Maintains Official personnel records , including E-OPF, employee performance files and medical files. Sets up folders, file documents and transmits files to another region, the national office or another government agency or to the Federal Records Center as appropriate. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.
Examples of Specialized experience at the GS-5 include experience advising customers on employee benefits, managing workload and deadlines.
Examples of Specialized experience at the GS-6 include experience advising customers on employee benefits, managing employee's timesheets, leave balances, as well as knowledge of payroll regulations, managing workload and deadlines.
Examples of Specialized experience at the GS-7 include experience with processing personnel actions, hiring rules, advising customers on employee benefits, managing employee's timesheets, leave balances, as well as knowledge of payroll regulations, managing workload and deadlines.
OR For the GS-5:
Education: 4 years above high school.
For the GS-6 and GS-7:
Education: There is no substitution for education at these grade levels.

If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be evaluated against the evaluation factors below and will be placed into a category based on your vacancy question responses.
Category A - Meets the basic qualification requirements for the vacancy and has successful experience in the same or similar job that has demonstrated superior proficiency in applying critical competencies required by this position to work of increased levels of difficulty and complexity.
Category B - Meets the basic qualification requirements for the vacancy and demonstrates satisfactory proficiency in the critical competencies required by this position.
Category C - Meets the specialized experience described in the minimum qualifications requirements section of this announcement and demonstrates proficiency in the basic competencies.
