The HR Assistant is a member of the HR team and works under the general direction of the Human Resources Generalist performing a range of HR functions.
Welcome new employees and handle all on-boarding activities (new hire forms, orientation, benefit enrollment, etc.) Answer employee questions regarding benefits, employee services, etc. as needed. Handle benefit administration including data entry for enrollment/changes, monthly invoices, and benefit tracking reports, and I-9 compliance
Organize HR files and documentation. Responsible for maintenance of employee database, organization’s personnel files, and required documentation to be in compliance with Massachusetts healthcare regulations; tracking charitable donations, tuition reimbursement and employee development documentation; and maintaining performance management system
Update and monitor ATS to track and monitor candidates throughout the hiring process. Coordinate background checks, conduct reference checks, prepare offer letters and orientation packets.
Identify and implement unique employee services and wellness activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A positive can-do attitude with excellent written and verbal communication, superior organizational, follow-up, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
Advanced computer and Internet skills including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills. Previous experience with an ATS and HRIS is preferable. Ability to learn and utilize different software systems and applications.
Bachelor degree in business, human resources management, organizational development or related field preferred.
0 to 2 years of experience in Human Resources with some experience supporting a recruiting or HR function.
