Performs a wide range of administrative support functions to include, answering phones and responding to inquiries, coordinating employment testing, instructing employees on completion of I-9s and other employment paperwork and assisting applicants with online application procedures. Coordinates probationary and annual non-faculty performance evaluation process. Maintains databases and spreadsheets for performance evaluation process and other compensation/Affirmative Actions related functions. Processes paperwork to enter employees into payroll on the HRIS system, handles verbal employment verifications and scans documents to create PDF files. As a member of the HR team, provides general support to other Human Resource staff members on an as needed basis for special projects.
Two years of college coursework and two years of administrative office support experience are required. In lieu of education, equivalent directly related experience will be considered. Prior experience working in human resources and/or higher education is desirable. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software is required with experience with Microsoft Access desirable. Superior customer service, communication and interpersonal skills that are reflected in positive, affirming verbal and non-verbal interaction with a variety of clientele are essential. Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize often under the pressure of deadlines while remaining attentive to detail. Must be a team player and flexible in contributing to the mission/goals of the department and the University.
Writing, Word and Excel tests are required. Finalists will be contacted to schedule an appointment for testing.
