Enter employee data into HRIS and maintain updated employee files
  • Ensure new hire personnel files are in compliance and follow up with managers or employees as needed
  • Liaise with Payroll department to coordinate data entry
  • Responsible for preparation of new hire paperwork and files
  • Track performance reviews and probationary periods and notify managers of upcoming dates
  • Administer State Clearance, fingerprinting and other criminal background check processes, and maintain records per agency or program requirements
  • Prepare monthly request for payments of department invoices
  • Complete employment verification via phone, form or letter and complete income eligibility forms, as requested
  • Assist employees with any benefit claim issues or concerns
  • Assist Benefit Specialist with processing enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs
  • Address unemployment and assist with workers compensation and disability claims
  • Assist with preparing FMLA and other time off notifications, track time off dates and verify certification
  • Create photo id cards for employees and interns
  • Perform general office duties (filing, faxing, correspondence, ordering supplies, etc.)
  • Complete other relevant tasks or special projects as assigned by supervisors
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred
    • Experience working in a Human Resources office strongly preferred, non-profit setting a plus
    • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Must be professional and personable yet have the ability to exercise sound judgment when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
    • Experience with ADP software strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with MS Office programs, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
    Hours: 35 hours per week

    Salary: Mid 30s, plus generous benefits package
