The Human Resources Associate provides day to day Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) leadership and supports the College's human resources activities. Including: HRIS applications (applicant tracking, information systems, and regulatory reporting), recruiting and selection, orientation and training, development, job analysis and documentation, performance management, legal compliance, and employee relations.
The HR Associate's responsibilities include:
Develop, maintain, and use human resources applications including Banner, Argos, and X-tender.
Monitor and update Outlook and Active Directory.
Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws in execution of duties.
Assist with labor relations issues including but not limited to preparation for Collective Bargaining Agreement Negotiations.
Develop, update, and maintain organizational charts.
Update and coordinate the administration of performance appraisals and ensure compliance by due dates.
Develop and maintain all job descriptions and implement advertising plan for vacancies including writing and posting advertisements.
Produce all regulatory reports in a timely manner, develop and maintain calendar of all regulatory reports, and perform audits to ensure the integrity of the data.
Conduct research and make recommendations on staffing programs and initiatives which meet the needs of the College's strategic goals within its financial constraints.
Update and communicate department policies and procedures particularly in areas of recruiting, selection, orientation and employee relations with all members of the College Community.
Act as liaison between the employee and payroll office with regards to leave balances for Technical, Professional, and Administrators.
Collaborate with department management to develop effective and ongoing employee relations programs.
Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures for all functions covered by this position.
Education Required or Min Education Required:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience and/or Skills Required:
Four to seven years progressively responsible HR experience.
Minimum of three years of HRIS experience required.
Working knowledge of all applicable federal and state laws.
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and Internet required.
Demonstrated evidence of detail-orientation, customer service orientation, ability to work independently, and great levels of responsibility required.
Ability to travel between locations.
Experience preferably with HRIS management in a manager capacity in a higher education setting.
HR experience in a unionized environment preferred.
Bilingual a plus.
