About KIPP Delta Public Schools:

The mission of KIPP Delta Public Schools is to create and support schools that empower students from underserved communities to develop the knowledge, skills, and character traits necessary to pursue a college education and a life of value, joy, and integrity.

We are a growing network of schools offering a free, college-preparatory education to children in the Arkansas Delta. Across our four schools in Helena and Blytheville, we currently serve over 1,120 students and 80 alumni.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Human Resources Associate is to support the Human Resources Director in our efforts towards success in recruiting, supporting, and retaining the talented teams that we will need in order to best serve our Team and Family.

As such, the scope of work for which the HR Associate will be responsible includes tactical support for human capital across our region as defined by the Human Resources Director. This scope of work will include administrative, compliance, and recruitment oriented tasks.

The Human Resources Associate will report directly to the Human Resources Director.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Benefits, Compensation & Payroll

Coordinate employee-facing operations for all health and welfare benefits programs (medical, dental, disability, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), AR Teachers Retirement System and 403b plans) in conjunction with HR Director to ensure employee needs are being met

Cross-train on employee compensation information and be prepared to support the finance team in administration of payroll

Employee Relations & Policies

Support the HR Director in the effort to manage personnel issues and labor relations situations, providing support and counsel to employees and managers, consulting with outside legal and other resources as appropriate

Support the HR Director in the effort to ensure that policies and procedures are in compliance with federal and state labor laws and regulations

Maintain and distribute staff handbook and employee policies

Maintain confidential human resources files

Manage the system for tracking employee time-off and leave policies

Recruitment & On-Boarding

Support the HR Director in developing, implementing, and managing talent recruitment strategies for available school and regional positions

Execute on customized recruitment supports for varied skills, needs, and preferences of hiring managers

Draft and publish job descriptions and marketing materials in partnership with HR Director

Manage candidate tracking system

Screen resumes, schedule and coordinate candidate interviews, visits, exercises, and interviewer debriefs

Conduct proactive outreach; cultivate relationships with sourcing organizations, networks, and events

Collaborate with HR Director, hiring managers and other staff to develop and implement onboarding process and programs

Partner with school and regional leaders to identify talent needs, pipelines, and recruitment strategies

Other Talent & Human Resources Systems

Participate in the design, selection, and implementation of an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and HR intranet site or comparable resource.

Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of:

Staff Performance Management systems and programs

Professional Development systems and programs

Staff Retention strategies

Teacher qualifications and credentialing process

An HR Associate candidate must possess:

Skills and Experiences

A Bachelor’s degree

Two or more years of professional work experience

Technical experience in managing data/technology systems or strong ability to self-direct new skill acquisition in this area

Strong planning, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to identify numerous dependencies while executing against a shared plan of action

Strong interpersonal skills and track record of collaborating with diverse stakeholders
