The HR Coordinator will collaborate with the human resources department to facilitate the smooth and effective completion of daily activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assists in the administration of assigned HR-related processes, projects and communications in the areas of Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, HRIS, New Employee Onboarding, and Benefits. The coordinator also supports the administration of general policy, procedures and practices and will coordinate biweekly payroll information.

Responds to and resolves employee inquiries

Coordinates new hire and termination processes

Assists with employee recognition and award programs

Supports company engagement initiatives in areas of responsibility

Serves as primary backup to Benefits Administrator in conducting new employee orientations

Assists with recruiting processes including sourcing and attracting candidates to Benesch, screening candidates, forwarding resumes to hiring managers, maintaining applicant tracking database, coordinating interviews, and helping manage a positive candidate experience.

Conducts background and reference checks on candidates

Maintains current job descriptions for all positions

Takes an active role in maintaining current and organized e-personnel and benefit files.

Schedules and coordinates logistics of HR employee meetings and programs

Creates and distributes new hire announcements

Assists in producing Total Compensation Statements and other year-end documents

Proactively identifies and suggests improvements in processes

Runs ad hoc and regular queries/reports from various systems

Processes wage garnishments and other liens

Prepares government compliance reports and proposal requests for employee data

Works on various research and audit projects as assigned

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field. HR Certification a plus.

Minimum 3-5 years of professional HR experience in a professional services or similar environment. Engineering industry experience is desirable, but not required.

Must have experience in at least 3 different areas of human resources such as recruiting, compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee relations or training/development.

Basic knowledge in employment law and human resources practice areas.

Advanced Microsoft office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint. Must have ability to work in HRIS or other HR software programs at a mid- to advanced level.
