DESCRIPTION

The Director of Human Resources contributes to defining and implementing a Human Resource Strategy which aligns and integrates with the Museum's Business Strategy.

DUTIES

Specific job duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Provide one on one and group employee New Hire Orientations.
  • Facilitate the alignment and improvement of HR policies, processes, and programs across the Museum.
  • Ensures Museum Management appropriately leverage selected HR technologies to drive fact based decision making for their perspective departments
  • Ensure compliance with I-9 verifications and notice to applicant forms.
  • Create employee files (hires) and maintain all filing.
  • Build and maintain Orientation materials.
  • Complete employment verification requests.
  • Complete additional Human Resources daily duties and office tasks.
  • Is an active participant of the leadership team and attends staff meetings of key leadership team members
  • Acts as a point person and "one stop shop" for HR Museum needs
  • Implements and monitors adherence to all Museum-wide specific Human Resources related policies and procedures
  • Processing payroll, including time & attendance, on a regular basis and maintaining payroll data integrity
  • Manage benefit plans to include - medical/dental/vision and 401(k).
  • Recruiting for all positions needed (seasonal & non seasonal).
  • Complete pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
  • Management reporting on an ongoing basis.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills:
  • Impeccable confidentiality, discretion, and work ethic required.
  • Possess the ability to clearly explain and/or teach concepts pertaining to benefits, payroll, hiring process.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task.
  • 2 or more years of payroll processing experience.
  • 2 or more years of recruiting experience.
  • 2 or more years of benefit administration experience.
  • Intermediate to advance MS Office skills.
  • Must possess polite telephone etiquette.
Education/Certification:
  • Bachelors' degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent experience
  • PHR/SPHR Certification
  • CPP/FPC Certification
  • CPC Certification
