The Human Resource Generalist performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, workers’ compensation, leave of absence administration, employee relations and training and development.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Coordinate and direct recruitment activities. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students; coordinates new-employee orientations. Supports affirmative action program efforts; maintains records, reports, and logs to support compliance with federal and state regulations; create a candidate pipeline that supports diversity hiring initiatives. Ensure the organization’s staffing needs comply with position control guidelines. Manages all position control data for Nursing units.
Screens and interviews applicants for employment for open positions. Ensure departments have a constant flow of applicants for open positions. Manage transfers process for the facility. Make offers of employment to selected candidate. Ensure selected candidate is aware of employment requirements, orientation dates, benefits if applicable, etc. Develop a process to ensure consistent employment and equitable compensation is followed. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
Facilitate the day-to-day activities of the Loss Control/Worker’s Compensation Program and FMLA/Leave of Absence, including PTO and ELB.


Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with three (3) years recruiting experience in healthcare recruiting. Healthcare/hospital background is required.
Must have knowledge of recruitment practices, benefit administration, HR standards established by The Joint Commission , State and Federal labor laws and other applicable regulatory requirements. Employee relations experience in a healthcare/hospital environment is strongly preferred.
Must have the excellent communication skills, both verbally and written; exceptional computer skills specifically Microsoft Office suite and online databases (Lawson and HRSmart experience a plus); excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize office workload and resolve problems.
