Pennoni Associates Inc., a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm headquartered in Philadelphia is seeking an HR Generalist. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced environment. The HR Generalist will be responsible for day-to-day administration of Human Resources activities related to policies and procedures, recruitment and staffing, employee relations, personnel administration and research, and general office administration. Responsibilities are varied and complex, requiring customary and regular exercise of discretion, independent judgment and initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
•Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees for several company disciplines; creates and places job advertisements; Participates in various career fairs in the Pennoni operating area; conducts background checks and reference checks; prepares offer letters and handles new hire set-up and processing in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
•Conducts new hire orientation and on-boarding.
•Assists in benefits administration including communicating benefit information to employees and working with third-party benefits administrator.
•Coordination of Worker’s Compensation.
•Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
•Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars including the Health and Safety Committee and Administrative Standards Committee.
•Serves as a resource to management and employees and provides prompt response and follow-through regarding questions, concerns, and issues in an accurate and confidential manner.
•Maintains employee personnel records and process status changes in HRIS, including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
•Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing.
•Runs weekly and ad-hoc reports from HRIS.
•Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
•Coordination of internal training including webinar set up and ordering and live on site trainings.
•Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
•Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
•Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
•Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
•Travel is required at certain times during the year for Career Fairs, Office Visits, and Open Enrollment. Travel may be to any of Pennoni’s 28 office locations.
•Working knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources Management.

Education and Experience:
•A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
•A minimum of three (3) years, up
to a maximum of five (5) years, related experience in Human Resources required.
•Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
•Prior experience with HRIS applications preferred, including the HR/Payroll database (preferably ADP)
•Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
