Support the execution of ACIST Medical Systems’ business strategy, vision and mission through the application of HR processes and programs in ACIST Fremont facility. Provide consultative HR support and guidance to employees, managers and executives in the areas of employee relations, performance management, employee development and organizational effectiveness.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Coach and consult with management and employees on issues affecting morale, performance, personal development and overall employee engagement, helping to determine root causes and recommending appropriate next steps.
Provide management with advice and HR expertise to ensure effective employee relations in matters of supervision, discipline, discharge, motivation and performance evaluation procedures, practices and policies.
Participate in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop, recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
Research and analyze information to make employee relations decisions and recommendations
Interpret, implement and answer inquires related to HR policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency and reinforcing adherence as appropriate
Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
Conduct Exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination; track and share trends with management with the goal of improving organizational culture
Ensure management practices are consistent with all federal, state and local employment legislation and regulations
Partner with outside legal counsel as needed/required
Partnering with Eden Prairie HR Manager, manage all aspects of the performance management process in Fremont
Consult with managers on setting objectives and conducting performance reviews
Facilitate/co-facilitate performance rating calibration sessions with management
Identify areas to improve and streamline process
Consult with, educate and coach people managers through employee performance issues that may result in discipline and/or termination
Assist and advise management and employees during organizational changes
Assist managers with organizational team/functional design; review and edit job descriptions
Coach and work with the management team to effectively manage and lead people and integrate changes to improve business results
Develop a thorough understanding of the organization’s business needs and future direction in order to ensure business decisions take into account the people implications and minimize company exposure
Serve as a supporter of change that leverages talents and directionally moves the business forward
Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition Specialist to effectively identify, source, screen, and select the most qualified talent to fill organizational needs
Provide Managers tools, information and training necessary to make hiring decisions focused on driving high levels of functional performance and fit to culture
Drive candidate debrief and selection process with internal decision makers
Make recommendations on offer and other offer elements. Sell the opportunity and total rewards package to prospective employees.
Oversee temporary and contract labor utilization and ensure appropriate utilization of employment classifications
Facilitate training programs developed by ACIST Eden Prairie
Assist in the implementation of Employee Engagement programs
Coordinate administration of leaves, etc. with Comp/Benefits Analyst
Keep current on all employment related federal and state laws and regulations to ensure compliance
Provide input to the development of HR policies and programs
5+ years progressive experience in generalist-related HR functions
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and CA employment laws
Strong interpersonal skills and judgment, managing sensitive and confidential matters
Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of employee relation issues and recommend appropriate advice
Moderate computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to influence management on the effective utilization people leader best practices
Masters degree in HR or business
PHR or SPHR certified
8+ years of progressive experience in generalist-related HR functions
Occasional travel required
