PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Manager of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for leading the Human Resources function for American Consulting Services (ACS) ACS is the parent company of American Engineering Testing Inc (AET) and American Petrographic Services Inc (APS) often referred to as American Companies
PRINCIPAL AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
The Human Resources Manager must be able to effectively perform the following
Develop guide and manage the Human Resources function including but not limited to services policies and programs for the companies Participate as a key partner in AET’s talent management strategy including recruiting hiring compensation training and development performance planning terminations and succession planning Oversee employment law compliance and compliance to regulatory concerns Oversee and administer affirmative action/EEO reporting and compliance Oversee employee wellness and health benefit programs Oversee AET random drug testing program and compliance with client and government required drug testing programs Prepare communications to employees for all human resources related efforts Coordinate use of external employment agencies recruiters and temporary staffing agencies as necessary Plan and coordinate company sponsored human resources events Analyze the effectiveness of all human resources efforts Lead the human resources team and provide professional development guidance and support Administer day to day management duties of human resources
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Understands how a fully functioning Human Resources Department operates for a large professional services firm including the use of HRMS systems to maximize Human Resources efficiencies systems and processes Excellent written verbal and non-verbal communication skills Solid business acumen AA/EEO reporting experience and problem-solving skills Strong leadership project management and time management skills Demonstrated proficiency in Development of new Human Resources policies & programs based on business requirements Talent management Regulatory compliance Compensation and benefits Employee relations Organizational development and change management Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful strategic recommendations to the AET Leadership Team and Board of Directors Demonstrated proficiency with applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Sage or similar HRMS systems Experience working in a firm with multiple office locations Experience with process improvement methods such as Lean is considered a plus

Education and Experience
Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Human Resources Management or related field Masters degree preferred Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressively more responsible positions in Human Resources or Human Resources generalist experience Minimum of (3) years leadership experience SPHR or PHR preferred Experience in A/E/C industry preferred
